Requesting new resources

Find guidance on how to recommend new scholarly materials to support your research.

Researchers and HDR candidates

Resource recommendations are available for UNSW Research staff or HDR candidates to support your research.

Recommendations will be reviewed in line with the UNSW Library Collection Development Strategy, the research needs and the learning & teaching requirements of UNSW.

Resources that are in scope for consideration:

  • Journal recommendations for the following calendar year are generally considered on an annual basis in August.
  • Material published in the last five years, excluding current year, will be considered.
  • For current or older material, UNSW staff and students can apply for an interlibrary loan.

Resources that are outside the scope of the Library's collection development strategy and unable to be considered:

  • bibliometric or citation tools
  • standalone AI tools
  • resources that repackage open access content.

Evaluation of recommendations may take between 6 and 10 weeks depending on the number of other quiries and scope of recommendation.

We appreciate your understanding.
