UNSW’s institutional repository, UNSWorks, is being upgraded to provide a new and improved experience for researchers, students, and members of the public.

The upgraded UNSWorks will provide a clearer and more user-friendly way to discover UNSW research. Improvements to the homepage, navigation and search tools will make it easier to find research by author, faculty, research topic, output type and year.

Research outputs will also include clearer information about access status and relationships to related publications, datasets, theses and grants. Improved performance, accessibility and support for research discovery services will help make UNSWorks more useful for researchers, students, and the broader community.

UNSWorks deposit functionality will be unavailable while the upgrade takes place from 7pm on Monday 12 October to 11am on Monday 19 October.

What’s changing?

  • Improved search, filters and browsing options.
  • Clearer information about research output types and access status.
  • Better connections between related publications, datasets, theses and grants.
  • Faster, more responsive and accessible navigation.
  • Clearer pathways for researchers and HDR candidates to deposit their work.
  • Improved visibility of UNSW research in external discovery services.
  • Enhanced options for exporting research records for citation, reporting and reuse.

How will this affect you?

You will be unable to deposit new publications or update existing publications in UNSWorks during this period.

For example, you will not be able to:

  • deposit a thesis or dataset via the UNSWorks repository
  • deposit a journal article, conference paper, research report or creative work via ROS (Research Output System)
  • update an existing publication in UNSWorks.

You will still be able to search, view and download existing UNSWorks publications during this period.

If you have any questions about UNSWorks, please contact the UNSWorks team.

Thank you for your patience as we undertake essential improvements to upgrade UNSWorks.
