Main Library upgrades

Level 8 of Main Library is officially closed from Wednesday 12 August 2026 as part of a major building refurbishment project. This project will create 650+ brand new student spaces across three locations on Levels 3 and 5 of Main Library, including a new postgraduate study space.
All remaining areas of Main Library remain open and operate as normal. The Library has a wide range of seating options across Levels 2 to 7, including bookable study spaces for individual or group study. You can see in real time how many individual desks are unoccupied by checking the desk availability maps online or on screens displayed across Library floors.
Stay tuned for further updates on the Main Library building progress and new study spaces planned to open in 2027. This news page will be updated regularly with the latest information.
