Exhibition: From 15 December 2017 to 27 March 2018, UNSW Main Library Level 5
Tip of the Iceberg: Works from the UNSW Art Collection brings together more than thirty paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures by leading Australian artists, reflecting the strengths of the University's holdings of Australian art from the 1980s and 1990s. The UNSW Art Collection began in 1955 in recognition of the important place of the arts in providing a university experience that would be both personally enriching as well as academically rewarding. Today the UNSW collection numbers over 1100 pieces and this exhibition brings together some of the greatest paintings in the collection for the first time including works by Jarinyanu David Downs, George Liwukang Bukurlatjpi, Howard Arkley, Aida Tomescu, Peter Booth, Barbara Hanrahan and John Olsen.
