Biography

Megan is the Director, Scholarly Collections and Access at UNSW Library. In this role, Megan leads the Library's stewardship of UNSW's scholarly information collections, special and rare collections, and the Library's exhibitions program and events. Megan is responsible for the sustainable management of the $20M scholarly information resources budget, the collection development strategy, collection access including Leganto, collection services including borrowing and document delivery, and overall direction in the care of UNSW's print research collection. She is excited to continue to develop the Library's exhibition program as it expands into object-based learning and explores Digital Labs. As part of the Library executive team, Megan works closely with her colleagues to build the value and impact of the Library to responsively meet the research, teaching and learning aspirations of UNSW.

Megan holds a Master of Commerce (Strategic Management) (CSU), conferred with Distinction, a Bachelor of Arts (Library and Information Science) (CSU) and a Certificate in Executive Management and Development (AGSM, UNSW Business School). Megan completed the prestigious UNSW Professional Woman in Leadership program (2017 Alumni), part of UNSW's 2025 Strategy to identify, grow and retain talented and resilient women that will lead UNSW with confidence and competence.

With over 20 years of experience across the Library and Information sector, Megan began her career in libraries implementing significant change, developing the first web presence for the Randwick City Library Service. Since joining UNSW in 2012, Megan has focused on creating a culture of knowledge sharing across the Library, building solid relationships with publishers and on improving service delivery through educational technology innovation. In her previous role at UNSW as Director, Teaching Services Academic Engagement & Collections, she lead the transformation of the ELISE online quiz to create an individualised authentic learning experience for all commencing UNSW students. Megan also created the Library's integrated approach to curriculum support and strategically developed library systems, software, services and course resources that have students actively engaged in their own learning and digital literacy skills development. In 2020, Megan negotiated a pilot transformative agreement between UNSW Library and CSIRO Publishing. This year Megan will be working with university stakeholders and sector peers to advance fiscal sustainability and equity of access in scholarly resources at this time of rapid change in the scholarly publishing landscape.

Outside of work, Megan can be found happily juggling family life with a not so new puppy and a daughter still doing her HSC, dreaming about skiing or bushwalking somewhere epic and swimming year-round at the beach.
