Terms and Conditions
By entering this competition, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.
1. Competition organiser
1.1. The competition organiser is The University of New South Wales, ABN 57 195 873 179 as represented by UNSW Sydney libraries located at Kensington, NSW, 2052 (UNSW Sydney).
2. Competition theme
2.1. The theme of the competition is to find out how many students use the Main Library and the Law Library at UNSW Sydney.
3. Who can enter?
3.1. The competition is open to current UNSW Sydney students as follows:
(a) via an invitation email link to a student’s email address
(b) via a link from Student @ UNSW newsletter
(c) via UNSW Sydney’s official student mobile application (app), Uni-Verse
(d) via Quick Response (QR) codes on digital signage located within UNSW Sydney
(e) will be advertised via the Library's Facebook page and
(f) will be advertised via the Library's Twitter.
3.2. If you are not over the age of eighteen (18), a parent/guardian must enter the competition on your behalf.
4. How to enter
4.1. The competition commences on Monday 9 October 2017 at 12.01am AEDT and closes on Friday 20 October 2017 at 11.59pm AEDT (competition period).
4.2. UNSW Sydney takes no responsibility for any late entry or for any delays or failures of any telecommunications service or equipment.
4.3. To enter the competition during the competition period, you must complete the survey.
4.4. An entry not submitted during the competition period or not completed in accordance with these terms and conditions will not be valid.
4.5. Entry to the competition is free. You are responsible for any costs associated with entering the competition, which may include costs associated with accessing the internet.
4.6. There is a limit of one entry per person.
4.7. Incomplete entries will be deemed invalid and excluded from the competition.
4.8. UNSW Sydney reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of your entry, your eligibility and to disqualify you if you do not meet the eligibility criteria set out in this paragraph 4 and paragraph 5 or submit an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions.
4.9. All decisions about your eligibility and the validity of your entry will be made by UNSW Sydney, will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4.10. You will be required to enter your ZID to enter this competition.
5. How to enter and win
5.1. This is a game of chance. There will be three (3) prize winners only. All valid entries will be collated and names will be randomly selected by UNSW Sydney to determine the winners.
5.2. The winners will be announced on 3 November 2017 via the Library website.
5.3. You agree to UNSW Sydney making an announcement of your name as a winner if you are a winner of the competition. In order for you to claim your prize, you must provide your student email account details and postal address to UNSW Sydney on or before 17 November 2017 by emailing your details to email@example.com.
6. Prize details
6.1. The winners will each receive a single AUD$100.00 prepaid Visa gift card. The total prize pool is valued at AUD$300.00.
6.2. Winners will be notified via their student email account within five (5) working days with information included on how and where to collect their prize.
7. The prizes
7.1. The prize winners will be responsible for all costs associated with collecting and using the prize.
7.2. The prizes are not redeemable for cash or an alternative prize.
7.3. The prize will not be mailed out.
7.4. The prize winners must each collect their prize in person at the Main Library in Kensington from the Project Support Unit. No winners may nominate a third party to collect a prize on their behalf.
7.5. The entitlement to the prize is not transferable.
7.6. UNSW Sydney gives no warranty as to the condition or use of any prize.
7.7. All prizes must be claimed by Monday 19 February 2018. Prizes cannot be claimed after that date.
8. Prize unavailability
8.1. In the event that for whatever reason, the prize described above is unavailable, UNSW Sydney reserves the right to substitute for the unavailable prize, a prize of equal or greater value.
9. Unclaimed prizes
9.1. In the event that the prize is not claimed within three (3) months of the notification to the winners, UNSW Sydney reserves the right to award any unclaimed prize to another valid entry. The selection of an alternate valid entry will be determined in the sole discretion of UNSW Sydney.
10. The Survey
10.1 The Survey is being conducted by the Library at UNSW Sydney.
11. Limitation of liability
11.1. In the case of the intervention of any outside act, circumstances or an event which prevents or significantly hinders UNSW Sydney’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, or act of terrorism, UNSW Sydney may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and UNSW Sydney will have no liability to you or any other person as a result of such cancellation.
11.2. UNSW Sydney will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss or claim (including but not limited to a claim for infringement of any copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property right, or any claim of a similar nature) that may occur as a result of your entry into the competition or use of a prize.
11.3. UNSW Sydney is not responsible in any manner whatsoever for any problems or any financial costs incurred, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other persons related to or resulting from participation in this competition.
12. Intellectual Property
12.1. All intellectual property in each entry will remain the property of UNSW Sydney.
12.2. By entering, you warrant to UNSW Sydney that the survey entry is both complete and accurate.
13.1. UNSW Sydney may collect, store and use personal information in order to conduct the competition and for related purposes referred to in paragraph 13.3 below, and may, for this purpose, disclose such information to third parties, including but not limited to agents, contractors, prize suppliers and, as required, to Australian regulatory authorities.
13.2. By entering the competition, you are deemed to have expressly consented to the collection, storage, disclosure and use of your personal information for the purposes identified in these terms and conditions in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW) and all other applicable privacy legislation.
13.3. By entering the competition, you acknowledge and agree that UNSW Sydney may, for an indefinite period, unless otherwise advised by you in writing in accordance with paragraph 13.4, collect, store, disclose and use all personal information collected by UNSW Sydney about you in connection with this competition for promotional, marketing, publicity, research and profiling purposes.

14. Facebook and Twitter
14.1. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook, Inc. or Twitter, Inc apart from the fact that the competition is being run by the Library at UNSW Sydney and advertised via the Library's Twitter and Facebook page.
14.2. You release Facebook, Inc. and Twitter, Inc. from any and all liability for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss or claim (including but not limited to a claim for infringement of any copyright, trade mark or other intellectual property right, or any claim of a similar nature) that may occur as a result of your entry into the competition.
15. Governing Law
15.1. The terms and conditions of the UNSW Sydney - Library spaces survey competition are governed by the laws of the State of New South Wales. You submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
16.1. If there is any inconsistency between the instructions on how to enter, other details contained within promotional advertisements and the terms and conditions set out in this document, the terms and conditions set out in this document will prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
