From 24 July 2006 UNSW Library's borrowing conditions will change so that loans which are overdue for 30 days or more will be considered lost. Previously loans were considered lost at 100 days overdue. Items considered lost attract a lost items replacement fine of $125.00 per item. If the item is returned, the replacement fine is waived and the maximum overdue fine is charged instead. Previously the maximum overdue fine was $60.00 but will now be reduced to $30.00 for standard loans, as well as items from the MyCourse (Reserve) & Multimedia collections. This policy has been introduced to ensure the prompt return of overdue items and to make the Library's collection available to as many users as possible. These changes also reflect standard practice in other academic libraries. For further information, please contact Andrew Inman, Manager User Services Department at a.inman@unsw.edu.au |
