Group study room bookings

Group study rooms and media booths in the Main Library and Law Library Kensington can be reserved online.

To reserve a room

Log in with your zID to Room bookings

  • Select your required date and find an available room that meets your requirements.
  • To reserve a room, you must agree to the Terms and conditions of use.
  • An email confirmation will be sent to your UNSW account. Please retain this email.
  • Your room reservations can be viewed through My Reservations or the room schedule at any time.
  • You can cancel a future reservation by selecting the reservation and choosing cancel. An email confirmation will be sent to your UNSW account.

You may also use Room bookings on your mobile device.

  • To reserve a room, select Reserve and enter date, time, number of people and location to find available rooms. Select a room to reserve. An email confirmation will be sent to your UNSW account.
  • Your room reservations can be viewed through My Reservations.
  • You can cancel a future reservation by selecting the reservation and choosing cancel. An email confirmation will be sent to your UNSW account.

Using a room

Please refer to Terms and conditions of use below.

Proceed directly to the room at the beginning of your booked time with a copy of your room booking confirmation (email or view through Room bookings). Please advise any occupants that the room has been reserved by you.

Remotes and cables can be borrowed on the day from the Help Zone during staffed hours. Lost items will incur a fine.

If you have any issues with equipment in the rooms, please immediately report the details and room number to Help Zone staff. Outside staffed hours, please submit an Ask a question form.

During Library staffed hours, if you have any problems please contact the Help Zone. Please contact security outside of staffed hours.

Terms and conditions of use

  • Library group study and media booth rooms are for the use of two or more UNSW students for learning and research activities only.
    Individuals occupying rooms may be asked to leave.
  • Reserving a room for any other activity should be discussed with Library staff in the first instance.
    It is strictly prohibited to use the rooms for commercial purposes.
  • Room bookings are forfeited if you do not take possession of the room within 15 minutes of booking start time.
  • Reservations are for one hour only and are available during Library opening hours.
  • Up to two room reservations can be made for a single day and cannot be made for the same time.
  • Maximum of four reservations can be made in a week.
    • A week is defined as Sunday to Saturday
  • Reservations can be made up to two weeks in advance.
  • Once a reservation has been made, an email confirmation will be sent to your UNSW account.
    • Use this confirmation advice to advise any occupants in the room of your reservation
    • Your room reservations can also be viewed or cancelled via Room bookings
  • Rooms must be left neat and tidy - personal belongings left unattended in rooms will be removed and taken to lost property.
  • During Library staffed hours, please contact the Help Zone if you find any problems or have issues with the use of the rooms.
