Due to essential fire safety building works, Main Library 24/7 study space is closed from 10.00pm Monday 11 November 2019. UNSW staff and students will be able to access the Law Library as a temporary 24/7 space. Those favourite spaces on Level 2 are still available during opening hours. For more information see 24/7 is moving from Main Library to Law Library.
Are you a night owl? Need to work through the night for an essay or cram for an exam? Did you know that the whole of Level 2 Main Library space is accessible to UNSW students 24/7? You can also make yourself at home in the comfy, newly refurbished Nucleus: Student Hub area as well. The Nucleus space is available for student study from 6.00pm till 8.00am Monday to Friday and all weekend.
On Level 2 we have a kitchenette which has 2 microwaves, a sink with hot and cold water; group study rooms and single desk seating with power and lighting; access to the High Use Collection, self-check machines, returns chute, recharge stations and printers.
We had a chat with a few students about their favourite spaces on Level 2, here’s what they had to say:
“My favourite spot is a big desk in the back corner of level 2. It’s quiet in the evening and I like the air conditioning”
“I love the kitchen because you can eat without leaving the Library. I also like being able to use the Library at night. I use the study lounge until after midnight”
“I like the look, the feel and the ambience. It’s quiet and encourages study”
“I get easily distracted with other people around. I like the individual desks with barriers and lighting”
“I like the corner desk where I can spread out and use the charging port”
