In 2016 a project was undertaken to develop a virtual library presence to showcase the research work of UNSW’s Water Research Laboratory (WRL) facility. Established in 1959, the Water Reference Library served the Laboratory and other UNSW water and environmental researchers. As such, it held a significant and specialised collection of print material, research and technical reports identified as having value for open access and preservation. The project digitised 145 WRL PhD Theses, 199 WRL Research Reports, 48 WRL Technical Reports (deemed available for public access) and identified a further 743 books and 4 serials for future digitisation.
These valuable resources can now be accessed through UNSW's institutional repository, UNSWorks.
