Martin Borchert is the University Librarian at the University of New South Wales and was appointed to the position in June 2016. In this role Martin will nurture strong partnerships to build upon the excellent work of the UNSW Library. He will further develop services, resources and facilities which support students, academic staff and community members in attaining their academic, professional and personal goals, and the goals of the university.

Martin has held senior positions at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) were he was Associate Director, Library Services (Information Resources and Research Support) for seven years and at Griffith University where he was Associate Director / Manager, Access Services in the Flexible Learning and Access Services department for six years. He has also held various other positions including Electronic Information Services Librarian, Liaison Librarian, Copy Cataloguer, Lending Assistant and retail manager and sales roles, spanning over 30 years.

Martin is professionally active and has contributed to many national and state based collection development and eresearch committees and has been a member of numerous conference organising committees. His papers and presentations are available on open access via UNSWorks.

He holds two masters degrees - in business administration and in information management, a bachelor degree in science (marine biology) and a certificate in project management.

Sarah Fredline, Deputy University Librarian

Sarah Fredline started her library career in 1992 as a Faculty Librarian at James Cook University in Townsville. In 1995 she relocated to Queensland University of Technology as the Electronic Information Services Librarian, and in 2000 she became the Library Systems Manager at QUT for a period of 7 years. In 2007, Sarah moved into the role of Associate Director at QUT Library. In recent years Sarah's areas of specialisation have included library refurbishment and workforce planning. Sarah joined UNSW Library as Director, Central Services in October 2010. She has a BAgrSc (University of Queensland) and a GradDipLibSc (QUT).

Robyn Drummond is the Director of Information Services at UNSW Library. She was appointed to this position in November 2015, following a number of years in management roles at UNSW Library. These roles included Manager, Service Innovation and Manager, Academic Services (Science, Engineering and Medicine). Through her work at UNSW Library, she has developed an ongoing interest in library support for researchers and has been instrumental in developing innovative services in this area.

Robyn has held a variety of library and information management roles in the academic, research and government sectors over 20 years. Building on her experience in these roles, Robyn is keen to continue delivering innovative and responsive information services to the UNSW community.

Robyn holds a BSc (UNSW); Grad Dip, Physiotherapy (USyd); Grad Dip, IM (UNSW) and is an Associate Member of ALIA.
