Inserting in-text citations in word processed documents
Once you have created an EndNote library containing your references, you can insert them into your word processed documents. (NB. There are various methods for inserting references into your word processed documents, below is one of them). This tutorial assumes that you use Microsoft Word 97 or 2000. Please refer to the EndNote manual for more information about using other word processors. EndNote must be installed after MS Word for the EndNote options to be available to format your bibliography.

Open your EndNote library.

-
Click on the citation that you wish to insert.
Open your word processed document.
Enter your term(s) in the textbox provided.
-
Place the cursor where you wish to insert your in-text citation.
-
Click on Tools > EndNote 5 > Insert Selected Citation(s).
-
EndNote will insert your in-text citation as well as generate a bibliography at the end of the document.
